Kauai, "under the sea"

We had a lot of fun in the ocean on our trip. Ricky got an underwater housing for my camera and that's how we got the underwater pictures. We saw lots of turtles and cool fish when we went scuba diving, it was so much fun. We also did a lot of snorkeling. I still think my favorite memory was the whales, they are so big!!

We were in a large Zodiak cruising around chasing the whales. We got really close a couple times and even saw a mother and her calf breach together. Ricky was too slow and missed getting the whole thing on camera.

This is the calf, it didn't come clear out of the water like it's mom did, but it was still pretty cool.

Here is the proof that the boys swam with dolphins.

The Tutles were so awesome, they reminded us of Finding Nemo. Disney nailed the turtles demeanor.

Here is a baby turtle we saw while snorkeling.

Can't get enough of the dolphins!

Here is our group shot from our dive. I am on the left, then Ricky, then Dixie and McKay Robinson.

I couldn't resist, this is one of the best pictures of Ricky in Kauai, he is not in many shots, the quality of this shot makes up for the quantity of shots he is missing in.

Kauai, Beaches

Kauai is the land of awesome beaches! We found some secret beaches that we had all to ourselves. Our favorite beach was the one that we had to hike down the coast just to get to, it was where Fantasy Island was filmed. The second time we went there, Ricky and McKay were able to swim with some wild spinner dolphins, it was a definite highlight for sure.

This is our secluded little beach that we had to hike into, it was awesome.

Same beach, we couldn't get enough of this place!

One afternoon Dixie, McKay, and I took a nap on the beach and Ricky vanished for a couple hours and came back with a whole bunch of pictures, this was one of them. He has more on his blog @ www.prolineimagery.blogspot.com.

This ship wreck beach right by our condo.

Ricky found this beach at the end of dirt road, don't tell the rental car people!

Kauai, Waterfalls

We saw a ton of waterfalls, some off the road, some we hiked too, and one we got to Kayak into.

This waterfall was right off the road, it was kind of far away and there was no trail to get any closer.

We kayaked a mile or so up a river, then hiked just over a mile to get to this 80' waterfall.

Here is a group shot at the same falls.

This swimming hole with an amazing waterfall, was only 5 minuets off the road.

Same swim hole waterfall.

Kauai, Helicopter ride around "The Island"

We had such an amazing vacation in Kauai this last week, I had a hard time deciding what to post. So I decided to do it in mulitiple posts. One of the highlights of our trip was the helicopter ride around the island. I was absolutely terrified for most of the time we were up in the air, Ricky insisted that we went with the oldest helicopter on the island because it was the only one that did not have doors. He thought it would be better for photos, and though he was right, it was scary! I even took a few pictures myself. In the end, it was awesome!!!

Paxton Standing

Paxton is getting so big! He has started to stand up on everything. Now that he's crawling, he seems more interested in climbing up on things than exploring the household.

Annual Bear Lake Trip

The kids always look forward to Bear Lake. There was virtually no snow this year, so we didn't even bring the snowmobiles. I think the kids had just as much fun swimming as they would have doing anything else. After being cooped up for so long inside this winter, they could not get enough of the pool.

Jade is not afraid of the water, but we still had to watch her, she is braver than her own good.

This dynamic duo have so much fun together, and they get along so good. There had a ball making bubble beards.

Sage is lucky to have such great cousins her age.

Not sure if she is happy or scared, but Sage could not get enough of the pool. She is getting to good at holding her breath under water.

Jade wore her little wings religiously after she had a close call in the hot tub. Ricky pulled her out of the water, just as she slipped of the steps into the deeper water!!

2009 Christmas

Christmas is full of traditions around our home, every year we take the kids snowmobiling on Christmas eve, build gingerbread houses, and have the children act out the Nativity.

Jade and Ricky on my snowmobile.

The Kids really take the Nativity seriously, it's really cool to see them get into it.

I'm not sure what the kids like more, building gingerbread houses, or having free rein of the treats for a night.

Oh, Christmas time.....

Sage danced at the Festival of trees this last week and also sang there. Lucky us we got to go down to the Festival twice! (I am being a little sarcastic)! Anyway we had a great time and the kids had a great time too! This is all of them posing for the camera!

Our family with Santa! Merry Christmas!!

Halloween Fun!

These pictures are from my lovely camera! Ricky has the pictures from Halloween night on his camera, those will be coming soon! This was the pumpkin carving and a Halloween party!

The finished products!!

The kids all love Halloween! Sage and Jade are sleeping beauty! Jade wanted to be what Sage was! Hunter decided to make a change this year and instead of being a cowboy he wanted to be spiderman! He loved it! Paxton had a great time has the frog prince. We had a great Halloween!
